With reference to previous correspon- dence as noted in the margin on the
subject of the liquidation of the Deutsch Asiatische Bank here, I have the honour to inform you that the 5546D44.X. liquidation is now complete, and I enclose twelve copies
of the Report of the Liquidator together with the statement of Accounts. This statement shows a balance in favour of the Bank of $669,494,51. To the report is attached a sup- plementary statement showing the final steps taken by the liquidator to deal with the large surplus, the bulk of which viz., £100,000 or $650,847.46 at 3s.07d. to the dollar was remitted to the Crown Agents for the Colonies to be invested in War Loan. The remaining balance of $15,943,91 has been handed over to the Custodian of Enemy Property who will defrey any further recurring charges, such as the safe custody of the records, from time to time. The appointment of the liquidator has been revoked.
